IdeaBloom Labs · Coloring Book Apps

Effective date: September 12, 2026

IdeaBloom Labs, based in Chesterfield, Virginia, United States ("we," "us," or "our"), provides Ariella's Activity Book, Issah's Coloring Book, and Angel's Coloring Book (each an "App"). This policy covers these Apps and communications with us about them. It does not cover our other products or general browsing of our company website.

The essentials

  • You can color, draw, read bundled stories, and use learning activities without creating an account or connecting to the internet.
  • Names, photos, drawings, preferences, and activity progress are saved on your device. The current Apps do not upload this content to IdeaBloom Labs.
  • We do not sell personal information, use advertising trackers, or include third-party advertising or analytics services in these Apps.
  • Sharing and printing happen when you choose them. The destination you select may receive the exported content.
  • Optional support purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment-card details.
  • If you contact us for help, we receive the information you send us.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

IdeaBloom Labs is responsible for information it receives in connection with the Apps, including support correspondence. Where applicable data-protection law uses the term, we act as the controller of that information.

You do not need to send us a child's name, photograph, or other identifying details to ask a general question about the App.

2. Information processed on your device

The App processes and stores the information below to provide the features you choose. Local profiles are not online accounts.

Information Purpose
Optional artist or reader names, illustrated avatars, and profile photos Personalize the App and identify local readers
Drawings, coloring choices, saved strokes, imported images, and replay information Save and reopen artwork and create exports
Favorites, bookmarks, story milestones, learning progress, journal entries, and parent notes where available Resume activities and display Family progress
Selected interests, setup choices, sound, accessibility, and reader preferences Remember how you want the App to work
Local record identifiers and historical purchase or hint-balance records Keep saved records consistent and preserve compatibility with earlier versions

Learning progress may be shared among people using the same App on the same device. Story records may be associated with a selected local reader. These records are activity history, not a formal assessment of a child's abilities.

We cannot view or retrieve this locally stored content unless you send a copy to us. Your device's backup settings may include App data in an Apple or computer backup; see Section 9.

3. Photos, camera, files, motion, and audio

Photos and files. If you select a photo or image file, the App receives the item you select through the system picker. Selecting a photo does not give the App unrestricted access to your photo library. Profile images are converted to a local image without copying the original location or camera metadata.

Camera. Taking a profile photo is optional and requires camera permission. The children's Apps also present a grown-up challenge before opening the camera. The photo is stored locally. We do not upload it, identify people from their faces, or create facial-recognition profiles.

Saving to Photos. When you choose to save an image, the App may request permission to add images to your photo library. This permission does not let it read your library. You can manage camera and photo permissions in device Settings. Revoking permission does not itself delete images already saved.

Motion. If you enable the optional story parallax effect, the App uses device motion to move illustrations. Motion readings are processed while the effect runs and are not uploaded to us or kept as an activity history. You can turn the effect off in Reader Settings.

Audio. Read-aloud and sound effects play through the device. The App does not request microphone access or record your child's voice. It does not request location, contacts, advertising-tracking, or notification permissions.

4. Optional on-device story questions

Where available, the optional Ask Ariella feature uses Apple's on-device model to answer typed questions about the selected story. It processes the question, the story text, and limited previous conversation context on your device.

The App does not send these questions or answers to IdeaBloom Labs or a cloud AI service, save a conversation history, or use them to train our own AI models. The conversation is held temporarily while the question screen is open and is discarded when that screen closes. The preference to enable the feature is saved locally. You can disable it in Reader Settings.

Availability depends on the App version, device, language, operating system, and Apple Intelligence settings. Apple may require a download to prepare its system model. Device keyboards, dictation, and Apple system services operate under their own settings and policies. Built-in story activities remain available without AI. Please keep questions about the story and avoid entering personal details.

5. Optional purchases and Apple services

All bundled stories, activities, and painting tools in the current Apps are available without an in-app purchase. Where offered, adults can choose a voluntary, one-time support purchase through Apple's App Store.

Apple processes the payment and provides the App with product and transaction information, such as a product identifier and verification or purchase status, so it can confirm the transaction. We do not receive your full payment-card number or billing credentials. Apple may make transaction, sales, or diagnostic reports available to developers under its services and your applicable settings. Information we receive through those channels is used for purchase support, accounting, or diagnosing App problems, not advertising to children.

Apple's handling of App Store, device backup, and system-service information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Information you send to us and diagnostics

If you contact us, we receive your contact address, message, attachments, and any device, App-version, or transaction details you choose to provide. We use that information to answer your request, investigate a problem, handle a privacy request, or meet a legal obligation. We do not use support messages to build advertising profiles or enroll children in marketing.

Please have an adult contact us and remove children's names, faces, and other private information from screenshots unless necessary to explain the issue. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, or identity documents unless we specifically explain why a secure verification method is required.

The App writes limited operational events and errors to the device's system log, such as opening a page, completing an activity, or a save failure. This is local diagnostic logging; the App does not forward it to a third-party analytics or crash-reporting service. Apple's own diagnostic collection, and any logs you choose to share, are separate from that local logging.

7. When information leaves your device

Exports you choose. You can create images, replay GIFs, and printable PDF booklets and send them through the system share sheet, save them, or print them. An export can include your drawing, a selected photo, or a title or name you entered. Review it before sharing. The recipient, printer, storage provider, or social service you choose may retain or disclose it under its own policies. We do not operate a public gallery, messaging service, or social feed in the Apps.

External links. Opening a website connects your browser to that destination, which may receive your IP address and ordinary browser information. The Apps' local-data practices do not describe the separate behavior of every linked site.

Support providers. Email and other service providers used to receive and manage your support request may process the information in that request. We limit this use to providing support and protecting our services, with appropriate confidentiality and data-protection requirements.

Legal and business needs. We may disclose information we actually hold when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or to resolve legal claims. If the business is transferred, any transfer of information we hold must remain subject to applicable law and the protections described here. This does not give us access to content that remains only on your device.

We do not sell or rent personal information, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Apps do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites. Browser Do Not Track signals do not change these App practices because this tracking is not performed.

8. Children's privacy and parental controls

Ariella's Activity Book and Issah's Coloring Book are designed for children; Angel's Coloring Book is a general family App. Children may use the activities with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. We do not require an online child account, contact details, or a real name to participate.

The Apps are designed to keep children's creative work and activity records on the device. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information online through normal coloring, reading, or learning activities. We do not require more information than is needed to use an optional feature.

Grown-up challenges protect designated adult actions, including optional purchases and external Profile links. In the children's Apps, they also protect sharing, printing, and camera access. A grown-up challenge helps prevent accidental access; it is not identity verification or verifiable parental consent to online data collection.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact our privacy address. We will investigate, stop any unauthorized use, and delete information we are not legally permitted to retain. Parents may ask to review or delete a child's information we hold, or stop further collection, subject to reasonable verification and applicable law. Local information can be managed on the device; we cannot remotely retrieve or erase it.

If we introduce a feature that collects children's personal information online, we will provide the required notices and obtain verifiable parental consent before collection where required by law. Accepting the Terms, granting camera access, or completing a grown-up challenge does not replace that process.

9. Saving, backups, retention, and deletion

On your device. Saved content remains until you remove it using available App controls, reset the relevant information, or delete the App. Offloading the App may preserve its documents. For complete local removal, use the device's Delete App option, not merely Remove from Home Screen or Offload App.

Copies outside the App. Deleting the App does not remove exports, printed copies, recipients' copies, or device backups. Manage those separately in Photos, Files, your backup settings, or the service where they were saved. Restoring a device backup may restore previously saved App data.

Developer-operated cloud backup. The current Apps do not offer an activated IdeaBloom Labs cloud-backup or account service. No progress is uploaded to that service. A future optional backup feature will need its own clear information about what is uploaded, the provider, retention, parental consent, and deletion before it becomes available. Device saving does not guarantee recovery after device loss or App deletion.

Support correspondence. We retain support correspondence for up to 12 months after a request is resolved, to handle follow-up and recurring problems. Records needed for a specific legal, security, tax, or dispute-resolution obligation may be retained for that obligation and deleted when no longer needed. Unnecessary child-identifying information received through support is deleted promptly and within 30 days of identification, unless retention is legally required.

Temporary information. Story-question conversations are not saved as history. Temporary exports and local system logs may remain until App cleanup, operating-system cleanup, or App deletion. Their cleanup does not delete copies you have exported elsewhere.

10. Your privacy choices and rights

You can use an illustrated avatar instead of a photo, leave optional names blank, change preferences, disable optional story questions, revoke camera and photo permissions, and choose not to share or make a purchase.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal information we hold, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

For requests, contact the privacy address in Section 1. We may request only the information reasonably needed to verify your identity or authority as a parent. We will respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any lawful limits on a request. Where applicable, you can appeal a refusal by replying to us or complain to your local privacy regulator. Exercising your rights will not result in unlawful discrimination.

Where a legal basis is required, we process adult support information to provide requested support, for our legitimate interests in resolving problems and protecting the service, or to comply with law. Optional processing that requires consent relies on that consent. These bases do not replace any special parental consent required for children's information.

IdeaBloom Labs operates in the United States. Support correspondence may be handled there and where our support providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use the required safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers, locations, and safeguards relevant to your request.

11. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. Local App data also depends on your device's protections and the people with access to it. Keep your device and operating system updated, use a device passcode, and protect exported copies. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

12. Policy changes and contact

We will update this policy and its effective date when our practices change. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice, such as an in-app notice or update information, and obtain any consent required before using information for a new purpose. Posting an updated policy alone is not consent to a new use of children's information.
